We transferred from Lisbon to the town of Elvas. Elvas is a fortified city just a stone's throw from the Spanish border. We had a light lunch to meet our tour leaders, Luis, Jonas and Jules. Then, they made our bike fit and gave a safety briefing. Then we emarked on a short loop ride of about 10km around Elvas' impressive aqueduct, its well preserved 16th century walls, and its other fortifications
