Alexandria: Spend the day exploring the seaside city, including Pompey's Pillar, the catacombs and the new Alexadria Library. In the afternoon opt to explore the city further with a guided tour.
Alexandria was founded by Alexander the Great in 331 BC, Egypt's only Mediterrean city is characteristic European with refreshing sea breeze.
Pompey's Pillar: The name is a misnomer, as it has nothing to do with Pompey, having been erected in 293 for Emperor Diocletian, possibly in memory of the rebellion of Domitius Domitianus.
Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa Visit: These tombs were tunneled into the bedrock in the age of the Antonine Emperors (2nd century AD) for a single weathly family still practicing the ancient Egyptian religion.
Alexandria Library Visit: The Ancient Library of Alexandria was probably the largest and certainly most famous of the libraries of the ancient world. It flourised during the Greek rule and functioned as a major center of scholarship, at least until the Roman conquest of Egypt. The old library was destroyed in a fire in the 1st century BC. The new library opened in 2002.
Potential optional activity: City Tour $50/person. Visit Citadel of Quait bay where the Lighthouse used to be and was considered a wonder of the ancient world. Photo stop at Abu El Abbas mosque and the Unknown Solider and a walk in the downtown district of the city.

April 18th (day 10)
Alexandria/Cairo
Head back to Cairo and explore the treasures of the Egyptian Museum. Lunch at leisure in one of the many local restaurants. Afterward, visit Khan el-Khalili, a famous bazaar and souk in the historic center of Cairo. Evening at leisure
Egyptian Museum. With over 10,000 pieces from every period of Egyptian history There is a 50EGP charge for photos in the museum.
Khan el-Khalili Bazaar visit Rummage through the bazaar, check out fine brassware, copper, perfumes, leather, silver, gold, and antiques.

April 19th
Cairo: Embark on guided tour of the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. Enjoy visit to the Papyrus institute - home to the world's largest collection of papyrus documents. Free time afternoon to explore Cairo on our own.

Optional Explore Memphis and Sakkara. Travel through the desert and farm lands into the history of Egypt. Explore the streets of Memphis, the ancient capital of Aneb-Hetch

April 20th (final day G tour)
Tours ends after breakfast.
We have booked the Flamenco for tonight. Free day to explore more of Cairo.
Optional: Could look at Viator day tours of Cairo if we missed anything. Could also look at a revist of the Museum if we didn't get to see too much of it.
April 21st
Free day today. We will transfer this afternoon the the Le Meridien hotel at the airport. We have an early, early (2am) flight on the 22nd back home. Hopefully, an afternoon of pool relax and dinner at the hotel or airport.
April 22nd
Start back for home.
2:10am to 6:10am Cairo to Warsaw on LO148. Quick connect. 7:40am to 9:40am Warsaw to Frankfurt on LO381 Should be able to use business lounge 1:30pm to 3:55pm Frankfurt to Denver on LH446.
