USA-Canada 4 Nations Final

4 Nations Face off provided some great hockey watching. 3 Avs on team Canada, McKinnon, Toews and Makar.
Watched at Brothers Bar downtown. This is typically a 'weak' sports bar. Yes, lots of tvs tuned to sports most night, but usually this is a college bar, loud bar music and very little attention paid to the tvs.
Thursday night was different. It started with the bar actually singing along with the US national anthem and 'unfortunately' booing during the Canadian athem. Lots of interest in the game (at least the beginning) with chants and table pounding of "U","S","A" during offesive chances and good saves by Hellybuck. As the night went on, the usual college party night crowd was more prevelant. What is it that the under 30s have no idea of bar etticut. No idea that hanging over people sitting at the bar to shout at bartenders for their mini-pitcher of bud light, coors light is acceptable. No care whatsoever about spilling their drinks over people sitting at the bar.
Rant aside, it was a good atmosphere to watching championship calibur hockey. The game going to overtime and McKinnon winning the tournament MVP both bonuses. I was mixed after Canada lost to the USA on Saturday. Part of me was actually hoping Canada dropped their 3rd game to missed the championship game. It would at let all 3 Avs players get a few days of rest. Hopefully, playing all during the NHL break won't affect their back to back road games this weekend.
Oh, yeah, Canada 3 Usa 2 in Overtime for those who don't follow hockey.
